The Supreme Court rejected the application of Yakub Memon’s death warrant.
Court Rejected Yakub’s Application:
Yakub Abdul Razak Memon, who is the lone convict of the 1993 Mumbai blasts, will be hanged on Thursday, 30 July, 2015 at 7:00 AM as Supreme Court rejected his application of his death warrant. In another difficulty for the 53 year old convict is that Maharashtra Governor CV Rao has also rejected his argument, hours before he is scheduled to hang in a Nagpur jail on Thursday morning.
The apex court bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra said, “The issuance of death warrant cannot be faulted with”, while rejecting Yakub Memon’s argument. He also said, “We don’t find any legal fallacy with the issuance of death warrant by the TADA court on April 30.” The court order was declared after.
Later, President Pranab Mukherjee sent Yakub Memon’s fresh mercy application to the home ministry. The ministry sent it back to the President with the advice that he should be hanged at the earliest, said TV report.
BJP members gather outside Salman Khan’s house to protest:
Salman Khan is saying innocent and urging to Yakub Khan who is the lone convict of the 1993 Mumbai blasts. The actor has been receiving a lot of flak because of this. Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) had demanded that the actor retract his tweets and had organized a protest outside his house in Bandra. But Salman Khan didn’t listened the demand of the BJP. And he didn’t remove the post from Twitter.
Salman Khan’s Statement on this:
Salman Khan told that “I had tweeted that Tiger Memon who is the brother of Yakub Memon should hang for this crimes and I stand by it. I also told that Yakub Memon should not hang for him. But I do not tell that Yakub is innocent. I have complete faith in the judicial system of our country. Many lives were lost in the Mumbai blasts. And I have repeatedly said the loss of one innocent life is equal to the loss of all humanity. My dad called & said I should retract my tweets as they have the potential to create misunderstanding. I hered by retracted them. I would like to unconditionally apologise for any misunderstanding I may have created unintentionally. I also strongly condemn those who are claiming my tweets are anti religious. I have always said I respect all faiths and I always will.”
