Delhi collages which come in University of Delhi have been instructed by the AAP Sarkar to stop with the recruitment process until full-fledged governing bodies, which include by government to their nominated members, were in place.
The AAP government froze regular appointments in these colleges in April 2015 as they were all operating with dysfunctional governing bodies.
The AAP Sarkar now decided to nominate five members out out of the fifteen governing body members in each college’s committee. While AAP Sarkar extends 100% funding to in 12 colleges, and the remaining 16 collage get five per cent (5%) funding.
The DU’s top committee, in spite of the government’s directive appointed full-time principals of their nine colleges which collage are the government is currently funding. Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, And Laxmi Bai College, Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, Satyawati College, Moti Lal Nehru College and Kalindi college are among those colleges which were earlier operating with a dysfunctional structure in their college committees.
Academics for Action and Development for Teachers’ body, issued a statement saying, “This letter is gross interference in the governance of the college.”
While the decision of appointment was confirmed top committee of DU’s, no official notification regarding the same has been presented in the open.
